Located at 2 Bray Street, Darfield.
We offer a modern, general practice small animal service, including consultations, in-house blood analysers, ultrasound, x-ray, and surgery.
Our opening hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Our knowledgeable and caring team of two veterinarians and two veterinary nurses, are well equipped to manage the health of your pets and working dogs.
Prices
At Braided River Vets we want to make it easy for clients to understand the cost of their pet's care.
So we have a simple, no surprises, structure for all of our routine services.
In addition to this we will ensure that all costs are discussed in an open and upfront manner prior to your pet undergoing any testing, procedure, or surgery.

Vet Consults
20 minute vet consult - $81
No surprise dispensing or administration fees.

Nurse Consults
15 minutes - $35
Nail clips, anal glands, repeat medication administration.
Blood collection (+$15)

Vaccinations
Parvo $100
Kennel cough $90
Parvo + Kennel Cough $120
Cat flu $90

Spey and Neuter
Routine desexing surgeries are priced based on weight.
Dog castrates start at $300, up to $400
Dog speys start at $450, up to $550
Cat castrates $150
Cat speys $230
Includes all take home medication and e-collar.

Bloodwork
Bloodwork prices are dependant on the tests required.
Common tests range from $73 for pre-anaesthetic panels, up to $170 for a comprehensive panel.

Dental
Dentals are always tricky to price because we often find more problems once we start looking.
A simple scale and polish starts at $550, with quotes provided for procedures requiring multiple or difficult extractions.
Afterhours care
Our small animal afterhours emergency service is provided by the Christchurch Afterhours Clinic.
Located at 146 Antigua Street, in Addington, they have an amazing team of vets and nurses available when disaster strikes on weeknights and weekends.
